Each year we schedule several special family fun nights to promote literacy and to allow us to have time with families outside of normal classroom life. This is a fantastic time to meet our staff, enjoy your family, and learn some new ways to promote literacy development at home.
The following events have already been held:
Fall Harvest/ PPL Forum
Parents learned more about going green and conserving electrictiy at home while students worked on fall crafts and enjoyed a story. At the conclusion of the program, each family left with a kit from PPL to help them cut down electricity costs at home. This was an interesting new addition to the programs that we offer.
Gingerbread Night
This event is always a big one, and once again we had a record-breaking crowd. Thanks to Mr. Esbenshade, Mr. Lininger, Mr. Keener, Mrs. Herr, and Mrs. Haberstroh, we saw the story The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School by Laura Murray performed as families followed along in their own copy of the book. In addition, we enjoyed some holiday music and decorated gingerbread men cookies together. Special thanks to all of the staff and the many families that participated this year. We hope that you enjoyed the program as much as we did!
Stay tuned for the next family fun nights scheduled as follows:
Alarm Bingo - More details coming so stay tuned!
Grades 3-4 - January 29
Grades 5-6 - February 27
